After teaching NEBOSH qualifications for many years, it is the view of our tutors that this change has been welcomed by ourselves and candidates. We feel it is, in some ways, slightly more challenging than the traditional style exams and with the time limit of 24 hours it does better reflect the challenges presented in the real world. We also feel that the update in assessment method has been handled in such a way by NEBOSH to protect the credibility of the qualification as well as negotiate the restrictions imposed by the global pandemic.

COURSE ASSESSMENT
External examiners independent of Learning Partners mark both assessments and are appointed by NEBOSH.
A scenario-based exam which will assess your ability to apply your knowledge, as well as testing your analytical and critical thinking skills.
This can be done from home or other suitable location with internet connection.
You can use your notes and other materials but must work independently from the point in time of downloading the exam, on exam day, until you complete your exam answers and uploaded them to the NEBOSH examination platform.
There is a 24-hour period to do this. In our experience so far, candidates are taking between 6 and 7 hours to complete their exam.
Your closing interview is not an assessment.
The purpose of the interview is to confirm that the work submitted is the your own and that you did not have any assistance in completing this NEBOSH assessment.
The closing interview takes place via a 1-2-1video call, where valid identification is requested and you will be ask questions based on your open book exam responses.
In the room there must be no access to notes or assistance during the interview.
If the interviewer is happy that the work is your own, a mark will be published in line with NEBOSH timeframes. For more information, visit the NEBOSH guide to Open Book Exams. [Link]
This is a practical exercise carried out in your workplace requiring identification and prioritising hazards and risks associated with operations within your workplace.
Completion of your studies on NG1 and NG2 elements 1 to 11 is required before starting this project.
Your complete article is submitted to the Learning Partner then uploaded to the NEBOSH system.
Your results will be emailed to you from NEBOSH within approx. 50 working days from the date of the examination or submission of assignment.
The specific date is written on your examination entry confirmation.
Your final Parchments (certificates) will arrive with us after the results have been announced.
We, the Learning Partner will distribute certificates to you
Note: resits can be arranged through us in the event of a ‘refer’ result and will incur additional cost.
16 Degree Shift Training and Consultancy Ltd are a GOLD Status NEBOSH Learning Partner situated in the northeast of England
We have historically delivered NEBOSH Training in the training room as either an OPEN course where we would serve learners from a variety of companies or IN-HOUSE courses for organisations that wish to upskill many of their employees in one go. Where UK companies would like their own NEBOSH course, we have been very happy to accommodate their dates at their specified venue.
In 2020 we successfully delivered NEBOSH courses to learners all over the UK in various industries live online. We achieved several 100% pass rates for those cohorts sitting the new OBE style exams.
We intend to continue to offer both ‘in-person’ and live online training over Microsoft Teams where we can easily share course content, encourage collaborative working and deliver teaching sessions.
