Is the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction right for me?

The NEBOSH General Certificate gives a fantastic all round foundation for anyone who has a responsibility for health and safety. However, if you work in the construction industry or have involvement in CDM projects then the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction may be the better choice.

There’s no better time with the construction industry being one of the most high risk with 74,000 suffering from work-related ill health, 39 fatalities, and 61,000 non-fatal injuries over the past three years in the UK, according to the HSE. This is on a worrying upward trend compared to recent past years. If you want to make a difference then the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction may be right for you.

You will get the same great foundation as the general certificate but with the added specialist topics of construction and with lots of examples and activities associated with the construction industry. This qualification has some real gravitas on construction sites making you more employable and giving you an edge for winning work. The construction certificate could also qualify you for career advancement in more health and safety-focused roles.

Not only that but the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction is recognised as suitable for membership by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), Association for Project Safety (APS) and you will also be eligible to apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card.
